US: Deadly Tornado Strikes Kentucky | 17 Killed as residents begin debris cleanup - There was widespread damage across parts of Kentucky on May 18 after a powerful spring storm system triggered a series of tornadoes, local authorities said. Residents were seen beginning cleanup efforts, clearing debris from shattered structures left in the tornado’s path. At least 17 people were killed in Laurel County, about 80 miles south of Lexington, when a twister touched down around midnight, Governor Andy Beshear said on Saturday afternoon on social media.
