Ammonia Gas leak in TN’s Tiruvallur kills 2 women; 60+ injured, PM Modi reacts - A tragic gas leak at from St. Peter's Paul Seafoods Exports facility in Kannigappair has sent shockwaves throughout Tamil Nadu. An ammonia gas leak was reported Tiruvallur district on June 21, which has reportedly affected 64 workers, including 60 women and four men. The horrific incident has also claimed 2 lives, while 23 have been admitted to government hospitals and are under intensive medical observation. 23 are undergoing treatment in the ICU of private hospitals, another 24 workers have been admitted to private hospitals and remain under observation. Reacting to the tragedy PM Modi also extended heartfelt condolences on the loss of lives. Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Vijay has also demanded a probe in the incident and ordered formation of a three-member committee.
