BREAKING | New York judge delays immunity ruling in Trump "hush money" conviction | | Stormy Daniels - The judge overseeing Donald Trump’s criminal hush money case has delayed ruling on whether the president-elect’s conviction should be thrown out on immunity grounds. The delay allows prosecutors time to assess their next steps following Trump's victory in the November 5 election. Justice Juan Merchan had been scheduled to decide on Tuesday whether Trump's argument—that the U.S. Supreme Court's July decision granting presidents immunity for actions related to their official duties—should result in the dismissal of the New York state case. Instead, Merchan granted Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg’s office an extension until November 19 to evaluate how to proceed, taking into account Trump's upcoming inauguration in January 2025.
