EY Employee death raise major concerns over work-life balance, psychiatrists discuss detail - The recent death of an EY employee has sparked a debate about work-related stress. In response, Psychiatrist Rajiv Mehta shared some preventive measures for dealing with work stress. Speaking to ANI, he emphasized the importance of not allowing work to consume one's life. "People should occupy themselves with various activities they enjoy. Don’t make work your only focus." He said, “Basically, work stress is stress due to work. Stress is common thing and it can occur due to various reason it can occur due to financial reasons, academic reason, professional reason and relationship issues. So the stress which is occurring because of your professional reason or work reason that is called work stress. And stress is same all throughout it has similar symptoms those symptoms are decreased interest, sadness irritability, decreased focus, forgetfulness, helplessness, hopelessness and death wishes and when death wishes aggravate it can convert into suicidal wishes to suicidal plans and ultimately to suicidal attempts which can be successful or unsuccessful so this is work stress and sometimes there are anxiety symptoms also associated with it like what will happen…….so how to protect yourself from work stress.
