“Found her guilty…” UPSC cancels Puja Khedkar’s candidature as Trainee IAS, debars from future exams - In recent events, Union Public Service Commission on July 31 cancelled the provisional candidature of trainee IAS Puja Khedkar. The UPSC has also permanently debarred her from all future exams and selections. Earlier, on July 18, UPSC issued a show cause notice (SCN) to Puja Khedkar for fraudulently availing attempts beyond permissible limit provided for in Examination Rules by faking her identity. However, she requested further time till August 4 to submit her response to SCN after gathering necessary documents. The UPSC said it carefully considered the request and she was granted time till July 30 to enable her to submit the response. As per the UPSC, this was Puja Khedkar’s final chance and no further extensions will be granted. Despite an extension in time allowed to her, she failed to submit her explanation within the prescribed time.
